A Craig Tone goal midway through the second half proved enough to send Mandurah City to the top of the State League One table on Saturday afternoon as City triumphed 2-1 in a tough encounter at Dianella.
City had gone one up after 23 minutes through a calamitous own goals that saw the White Eagles keeper flap the ball into his own net.
But a scorching free-kick from 25 metres saw the home side level ten minutes before the interval.
Coach Doug Hesketh made some changes just after the break, bringing on exciting front man Abe Tcuono and the change of personnel worked as a typical City passing move saw Tom Straker send in a telling cross from the right for Tone (aka Irish) to score from 10 metres out.
City had to endure a final flourish from Dianella, who went in search of an equaliser before having a player red carded for a second bookable offence, bit defensively skipper Any Brown was a colossus to keep them at bay and grab all three points that saw City climb above Joondalup to claim top spot.
